Byron Duckwall
Byron Duckwall, the son of a conductor, played his first recital at 8 years old. At
17, he won a competition to perform the Saint Saens concerto in Chicago’s Orches-
tra hall. Soon after he won a scholarship to the New England Conservatory. Byron
studied with acclaimed musicians George Neikrug, Bernard Greenhouse, Lazlo
Varga, Robert Gardner and Daniel Morganstern. He has played hundreds of con-
certs in Carnegie Hall as well as Lincoln center.

Recently Byron has given ‘Advanced Techniques’
classes at Juilliard and the Music Conservatory at
Bard College. He teaches violin, viola and cello. His
students include concertizing violinists as well as
amateurs and beginners.
