Damla embarked on her musical journey at an early age, starting with piano lessons. In 2012, she began her formal music education at Istanbul University State Conservatory, initially studying part-time in clarinet, solfeggio, and harmony. By 2017, she transitioned to full-time studies, refining her performance skills in European art music.
Her involvement with the Istanbul Clarinet Choir in 2016 marked the beginning of her international festival appearances, including the Istanbul Woodwind Fest (2016) and the International Clarinet Fest (2018) in Oostend, Belgium. During her time at Istanbul University State Conservatory, Damla performed numerous concerts with the Symphony Orchestra, also playing with the Istanbul Koncertant Orchestra and starring as the principal clarinetist in the musical "The Violinist on the Roof". She contributed to various chamber music and orchestral ensembles throughout her studies.
After graduating in 2022, Damla pursued a diverse career path. Besides teaching piano and clarinet, she served as the principal clarinetist in the Istanbul Buyukcekmece Municipal Chamber Music Ensemble. She also mentored young musicians as a clarinet instructor for the Municipal Youth Chamber Orchestra, engaging in teaching and performing roles.
In 2023, Damla relocated to Albany, USA, where she continues her passion for music education.
